Hegemony

When my dad asks me my opinion about something and I start to tell him he gets mad and stops me. Then he begins to give his opinion. Then were both trying and he gets madder. The he just finally walks away.

Self-Expression

I express myself by joking around in class. I joke around in class because I'm a happy person and like to make other people smile. If you're not smiling I'm going to try to make you smile. Thats the way I think I express myself.

"I have a dream too!"

"I Have a Dream Too!" I have a dream that one day this nation will not discriminate against class status.   I have a dream that one day we will all rise and have the same amount of money.   I have a dream that one day people will not care how much money you make.   I have a dream that we will all have money like everyone else.   I have a dream today.   I have a dream that one day that all people will be equal.   I have a dream today.   I have a dream that one day life will get better for everyone.   This is my hope and faith. With this faith we will be able to live in peace.   This will be the day when we are all equal and not judged.   And when this happens, when we let freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"

The Children March

If I was in the children march I would feel great for trying to help them be free. I would not be afraid to go to jail. I would be standing and singing with the kids that got sprayed with the water hose. I would not be afraid to get beat or anything cause I know that I helped someone out that day. Thats how I would feel.

Freedom Riders

The freedom riders stopped segregation. They rode the bus so they could try and stop segregation. They didn't fight back because Martin Luther King said "don't fight back." They just wanted people to stop judging them. Thats what I think they rode the bus.

Rosa Parks

If it was me on the bus in Rosa Parks situation I would not be so calm about it. I wouldn't give up on the boycott. I would fight for my freedom. But I just don't think I could be as calm as they were. I probably would yell and scream at the bus driver for trying to make me move out of the seat because I'm not certain color.
